Today, 7 reading tutors from PWC worked with students in Room 10 to launch the Toitoi Readers Number 29. Room 10 was split into 7 groups and they worked with their tutors for an hour reading and discussing the different stories in the Toitoi reading journal. This is the third week of term 4 and Room 10 has been very busy with doing assessments in literacy and numeracy. We have done PAT assessment in Reading comprehension and Mathematics. We have also done Asstle Writing and Peter’s spelling assessment. Here is a photo glimpse of our tamariki busy with the assessment.

Room 10 had the opportunity to learn how to make a Poi to celebrate Maori Language Week. The Poi-making session was organized by the facilitators from Te Oro in Glen Innes. Students were given a step by step instructions on how to make a Poi. Here is a photo glimpse of what our tamariki did.
