PWC – Toitoi Reading Tutors in Room 10

Today, 7 reading tutors from PWC worked with students in Room 10 to launch the Toitoi Readers Number 29. Room 10 was split into 7 groups and they worked with their tutors for an hour reading and discussing the different stories in the Toitoi reading journal. Assessment Week

This is the third week of term 4 and Room 10 has been very busy with doing assessments in literacy and numeracy. We have done PAT assessment in Reading comprehension and Mathematics. We have also done Asstle Writing and Peter’s spelling assessment. Here is a photo glimpse of our tamariki busy with the assessment.

Maori Language Week

Room 10 had the opportunity to learn how to make a Poi to celebrate Maori Language Week. The Poi-making session was organized by the facilitators from Te Oro in Glen Innes. Students were given a step by step instructions on how to make a Poi. Here is a photo glimpse of what our tamariki did.

 

PWC Coaches – Toitoi Shared Reading Session

Today, six coaches from PWC came to Room 10 to share their experiences and to do a shared reading session. These coaches worked with Room 10 for an hour unpacking some of the stories, poems, and pictures that had been written by students from various schools around New Zealand. About Me, August update, 2022

Today in our cybersmart lesson, we created a  google slide presentation to display an About Me update. We wrote an about me update and decorated our slide.

Today I enjoyed working with my Cybersmart Tuakana Matt, to create an update on “About Me”.  He also worked with Room 10  as well. It was a great session and my class learnt a lot.
